Collaborating to create suicide safer communities

12:30 - 14:30 | Tuesday 13th May 2025

As part of Mental Health Week 2025 we are hosting Isle Stand Up to Suicide in the Work Café for an awareness and training session focused on suicide prevention.

Attendees will learn about QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) training, a three-hour course that equips participants with skills to recognise warning signs of suicide and take action by questioning, persuading, and referring those at risk to appropriate help. The session will also introduce ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training), a more in-depth, two-day program covering intervention techniques.

A video presentation will feature elements from the QPR training materials, providing additional insights into suicide prevention methods and encouraging discussion around stigma and support. The goal of this event is to foster conversations around suicide and encourage participation in training or volunteer work.

There is no need to book—the team will be at Work Café from 12:30pm - 2:30pm and would be happy to meet you.
