Join Ørsted in the Work Café for one of their five pre-application consultation events around the Isle of Man for the Mooir Vannin Offshore Wind Farm.
Ørsted is a renewable energy company that takes tangible action to create a world that runs entirely on green energy. Over the past 30 years, they have established their company as the global leader in offshore wind. Since pioneering the world’s first offshore wind farm in 1991, they’ve built more wind farms at sea than any other company worldwide.
They are working with the Isle of Man Government to develop the Island’s first wind farm offshore and usher in the long-term benefits of the green energy transition. The Mooir Vannin Offshore Wind Farm, with a capacity in the region of 1.4 GW, will help support the Isle of Man’s ambitious renewable energy, net zero and economic growth targets. The name Mooir Vannin comes from the Manx language term for the Irish Sea – and literally translates as the ‘sea of the Isle of Man’. This is fitting as they bring forward these plans for the first large scale development in the Isle of Man’s territorial waters, off the coast of Maughold Head.
They have now begun the process of applying for planning permission from the Isle of Man Government. At this public consultation everyone is encouraged to share their feedback. Please drop in to meet the Ørsted team who will be happy to share their plans and answer any questions.
